Dr. Ajitesh is an officer in the IRS, a doctor-turned-bureaucrat, writer and tax administrator - professionally oriented towards public policy and decision making. The Ministry of Finance under the Government of India is the cadre controlling authority and his realm of functioning revolves around Indirect Taxes.

Writing is a passion that he has nurtured and imbibed throughout his formative years. A nascent sprout as an author during his adolescence and later metamorphosing into an administrative writer, he was inspired by his bureaucrat father, a high-ranking IAS official.

He has a dedicated affection for this art and hopes to diversify his portfolio and persona through this via media. Above all, God’s Grace has been a leading light in helping him prioritize his interests in this realm.

Dr. Ajitesh has served as the Assistant Commissioner of Customs in the Import Commissionerate at Chennai since May 2011. During this period of more than one year and a half, he has held several charges on the Appraising front in Sea-port Imports, including Groups II, V, I and IA. The quasi-judicial nature of work has enabled him to execute Government business in an impartial and effective manner.

Arrears of Revenue to the tune of Rs. 27 crores realized just three days before end of the Financial Year 2011-12 from Appraising 1A headed by Dr. Ajitesh IRS. M/s Chennai Petroleum Corporation Lts, an Indian Oil Company subsidiary contributed to this sizable revenue to the Government post-finalization of more than 160 cases of provisional assessment that had been left undecided since 2001.
